Over the next five weeks, you will build a concept map presentation using a presentation software such as PowerPoint or draw.io (Links to an external site.). Each week, you will expand upon your presentation as new topics are introduced and discussed. You will be including revised content from the interactive assignments (both the concept map and corresponding discussion) in your Computer Organization and Architecture (COA) Final Project. Before beginning this interactive assignment, review the instructions for the Final Project in Week 5 to see how it fits into your overall final project.
In this week’s interactive assignment, you will begin your concept map, which will illustrate and make connections among the concepts of computer systems. This week’s section of the concept map is focused on computer technology and computer instructions. In your concept map, illustrate the five classical components of a computer system. Label each component, and describe the function of each. Attach your presentation concept map to your initial post. (If you chose to utilize a web-based presentation software, insert the URL of your presentation in your post.)
As you will be refining your discussion posts throughout the course for the Final Project, create your initial posts in a Word document, and copy the text into the discussion forum.
Address the following in your initial post:
Explain how each of the five classical components integrate as a standard organization of a computer.
Define performance in general and the measure of computer performance.
In your own words, summarize the instructions, operations, and operands of the computer hardware; the hardware and software interface; and the representation of instructions in computers.
Your initial post must be a minimum of 250 words.
