Discussion 1: Such opportunities can also come from a variety of healthcare jobs like the athletic trainers which ensure that there is enough weight control to bear. The fat loss can also be made into detoxifcication by being an Athletic Trainer whom also specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating muscle and bone injuries and illnesses. Audiologists also have the best medical treatments ways of been able to diagnose, or have a resolution with patients who can or also must be treated with the hearing balance that are such as related problems. Other job opportunites in these healthcare organizations are the Chiropractors that can balance healthcare probems such as the neuromusculoskeletal system, that involves the nerves, bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons (Buchbinder, 2010). Dental Assistants are also jobs opportunities to get in these organizations. Mostly Home Health and Personal Care Aides have been identified to be the main job opportunities that are offered at first hand due to the higher volume of individuals applying for other healthcare job opportunities (Healthcare occupations: Occupational outlook handbook: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2022). Medical Assisants are also high in these volume numbers as long as Medical Records and Health Information Specialists. One can also get the position of a registered nurse (RNs) one that can provide and coordinate patient care and educate patients and the public about various health conditions.
Is a hospital’s financial health correlated with the caliber and security of the care it provides? While receiving a lot of attention, this topic is actually quite plain and easy to answer. In order to reduce the high cost of healthcare in the US, hospitals must be able to use their resources more efficiently. Hospitals are under a lot of pressure to reduce expenses while maintaining high standards of care. Public reporting and value-based payment (VBP), two initiatives that financially reward quality, will only be successful in enhancing population health for all if they are built to take into consideration the complex relationship between quality and facility financial stability. If not, these initiatives face the risk of continuing the “rich get wealthier” trend that has long characterized the American health care system (Akinleye et al., 2019). According to earlier research, as a hospital’s financial situation deteriorates, various parts of patient care could be jeopardized. However, research explicitly addressing the relationship between financial situation and the quality and safety of patient treatment has been contradictory, with conflicting results. The lack of obvious connections may be caused by the low predictive validity of the financial and quality indicators. Numerous financial distress models focused on certain stress indicators, such as bankruptcy and closure data—which are simpler to get but may not accurately reflect the range of financial health—when analyzing financial performance. Other studies simply examined a limited range of hospital financial performance metrics, such as operating margin, which did not adequately account for the complete spectrum of funding that may be allocated to investments in quality enhancements. Studies on quality performance have typically concentrated on certain outcomes, such mortality or hospital readmission from illnesses like pneumonia, heart failure, or myocardial infarction . The number of measures that can be used for quality analysis has increased as a result of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) extension of public reporting as part of VBP.
Support of Direct Care Facilities and KSAs Positions in Healthcare
A wide variety of medical and personal care services are offered by nursing homes, often known as skilled nursing facilities. Compared to most assisted living homes, their services place a greater emphasis on medical care. These services often include of nursing care, round-the-clock supervision, three meals per day, and help with daily tasks. There are additional rehabilitation services offered, including speech, occupational, and physical therapy. Some patients who are discharged from the hospital spend a brief period of time in a nursing home. They return home once they’ve recovered. However, because they have chronic physical or mental illnesses that call for daily care and supervision, the majority of nursing home residents dwell there permanently (Residential facilities, assisted living, and nursing homes, 2017). Life care communities, also known as continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), provide several service levels in one area. Numerous of them provide independent care on the same campus, there is accommodation (houses or apartments), assisted living, and skilled nursing care. Additionally offered are healthcare services and leisure activities. Where you live in a CCRC is based on the degree of service you require. When a person can no longer live freely, they move into an assisted living facility, however occasionally they continue to live independently while receiving home care. They can go into the nursing home run by the CCRC if necessary. 2 John 1:13 “The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.” Training in evidence-based and tried-and-true methods, theories, and approaches is provided to public health professionals. These abilities are however insufficient to bring about the desired changes in population health in the long run, although being crucial. In order to reach a healthcare’s ultimate aim, one needs the expertise required for this kind of position. The ability to provide excellent customer service is a strength of this role. Then when necessary links with other fields or translations of the science are not possible, the science’s potency is lost. Instead of promoting specific limited specialties, more focus may be placed on fostering the workforce’s creativity and ideas, as well as developing their ability to connect ideas (McGinty et al., 2017). Data on the public health workforce that are comparable across states, agencies, and job classifications are few. In an effort to close this informational gap and provide data to workforce planners and training specialists, the Public Health Workforce Interests and Needs Study (PH WINS), the first national survey of the public health workforce, was conducted in 2014. 1 John 2:3 “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.” An evaluation of training requirements was part of PH WINS, and it revealed that “policy analysis and development, business and financial management, systems thinking and social determinants of health, evidence-based public health practice, and collaborating with and engaging diverse communities” were the areas of greatest need.

Discussion 2:Healthcare administrators have the opportunity to work in diverse facilities. Healthcare is broad; therefore, administrators have opportunities to work in specialty care. Facilities include nursing homes, long-term care, health information, nonprofit organizations, pharmaceutical development or sales, health insurance agencies, ambulatory services, and laboratories (Oppenheimer, 2021). All of these areas require administrative and management positions to run the facility effectively. Though the department or organizations may vary, the roles of managers are interrelated. A nursing home administrator manages staff, admissions, and building, whereas a clinical manager oversees a specific department and specialties (Medical…, 2022). Health information managers maintain and secure patient records and data. All of these professions maintain and manage, but may differ between tangible and intangible items.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics offers great information in the occupational outlook handbook. Medical and health services managers are broken down as followed: thirty-three percent work in hospitals (state, local and private), twelve percent in physician offices, ten percent in nursing and residential care facilities, nine percent in government, and seven percent in outpatient care centers (Medical…, 2022). The good thing about having diversity in the job is that managers are able to plan their career path to where they are interested in. For example, if a member is interested in the technical aspect of the job, they are able to run informatic departments rather than the administrative focused positions.
Managers and administrators need to ensure direct-care workers and facilities have what they need to provide care. Direct care tends to be an entry-level position in the health industry and is limited to wages, physical and emotional demands, high turnover, and shortages (Supporting…, 2021). Managers should address the concerns of their direct-care facilities as well as efforts to recruit and retain members. Due to the technological growth and the use of electronic health records (EHRs), there is a greater demand for managers who know information technology and informatic systems (Medical…, 2022).
Michigan employers ran a study of job postings and the credentials that were required of applicants due to the high demand for healthcare professionals needed. The most common responsibilities looked at included skills of communication and management (Tacconelli et. al, 2020). Due to demands in the labor market, the skill requirement and responsibilities of employees are growing rapidly, and will need to be trained in more areas than ever before (Tacconelli et. al, 2020).
Appendix A lists a plethora of organizations that are growing in the field of healthcare management (Buchbinder & Thompson, 2010). I learned more about the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) this week as well as the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). CAHME is important to healthcare organizations because they recognize leaders and the competency of education requirements to lead the health care systems in the future (Why CAHME…, 2021). Healthcare organizations often select CAHME graduate students for jobs because it is a return on the companies’ investment. AACSB is focused on business majors. I am a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), therefore, this organization stuck out to me. Being a member brings a lot of professional development conferences and ways to connect with healthcare workers in the field. Most of these organizations bring job opportunities for executive-level positions. Corporate partners support organizations’ missions and vision for leadership and development opportunities.
A job posting, I found in Richmond, Virginia caught my eye because, at the top of the descriiption, it states, “we’re unique, you should be too.” The application is for a market clinical manager. To secure the position, there is a long list of responsibilities as well as knowledge, skills, and abilities. A lot of jobs I researched are looking for registered nurses. Knowledge includes patient safety, quality improvement, immunizations, geriatrics, Microsoft Office proficiency, and cultural diversity. Skills and abilities highlighted include clinical skills, customer service, communication, team management, time management, and observation. The job is also looking for someone flexible and willing to travel forty percent of the time. In my extensive research, knowledge comes first. A degree, preferably a master’s degree is what is being looked at. Time in the field is next. It seems a lot of medical administrators go from being clinical technicians and moving their way up to management and administrative roles. I have taken a different route. My military career has allowed me to learn and grow in cyber, communications, leadership, and management roles and I am using my education benefits to master healthcare administration in hopes to transition into a medical administrator job. When I get out of the military, I will have the skills and abilities on top of my education to secure the role I am looking for. If I need to take a clinical route, I plan to do that later on if I must secure an administrator job in the future.
Healthcare administrators are in charge of people and resources. Being a manager is difficult because people are not as easy to manage as resources are. Proverbs 11:14 reads “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors, there is safety.” Supervisors and managers can become mentors to a multitude of staff members within their facility by simply making themselves available and offering the time and resources their teams need to be successful. Hebrews 13:17 reminds us to “Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.” This verse reminds me of the military chain of command. Though there is a reason for the order in which one supervises and manages, we can all offer mentorship to those around us. If we obey and be submissive, we can learn and grow within ourselves. When we become mentors, mentees can obey and be submissive to what we have to teach and pass down to them.
